U-Boat Type XXI U-2540 (WIP #8) - Rigging?

moving on with the build....

was on and off doing this in between painting my EF-111..

rigging was done with a fine wire taken from my defunct notebook charger adapter wire.. easily controlled and looks the part.. i guess..

now i know that its hard taking photo of the riggings..

 will paint the rigging black... and still a few more raw sienna treatment needed before i can clear coat this and call it done...

ohh.. still need to find the relevant badge for the unit to make a nameplate for this build.

Back again with another round of updates... this round i'll be doing "oil-wash" on the u-boat...
i dunno if i'm doing it right but here goes..

i'll be using Oil paints "Raw Sienna" + turpentine.

mix it together and i have a wash solutions...
 the progress is as follows..

I also did a test rigging on the front of the conning tower..and also i've manage to decal the tower with the "frog" sign..

a very thin wire was used for the rigging and i think it looks ok.. :)

 i might have overdo the wash.. hmmm

before i forgot. the photo of the other side of the hull that have yet to be washed... so we can see how "clean" it was before the wash process... :)

Another round of updates for my U-boat Type XXI..

The below was done during the last couple of nights with a very limited modelling time (work commitments eats my hobby time)

so on with the photos..

First the ladder for the side of the tower..

initially i was torn between leaving the ladder alone and make a new one.. after a bit of convincing by modelling colleague.. i guess its time to test the skill (although for small task actually )...

so using the stapler bullet + a narrow nose pliers.. i have what looks like a ladder...

so below is how it looks on the tower.. and the one above it is the original.. not yet completed and not yet superglued on the other side..

 

i guess this will do ok to replace the original steps of the ladder... will try to complete it tonight.

next the inside of the tower.. not detail at all.. just enough so that people wouldnt see the empty inside of the sub.. so i used my "creative license" and make something to actually block the empty view to the inside of the sub. so below is the result..
