Trumpeter Seahawk FGA MK6 - decal (WIP 2)

its been a while..

Follow-up on my WIP 1 on this Trumpeter Seahawk FGA MK6

moving on with the build and finally manage to complete the decal process... and i end-up have to remove my earlier painting of the Invasion Stripes due to the dimension is out of specs... and i end-up using the decal for the stripes on the wings...

Before paint stripped
After using the decal and some panel wash.. better is it?

I really wish i did that much sooner (using the decal on the wings) since it just fit nicely to the wings and sure save me from the hassle of masking it .. anyway its done and i'm really glad.

So after the decal i move on doing a panel wash with Promodeller Dark... and the effect is really nice.. and this is the first time that i use Promodeller Dark wash on the whole aircraft.

The result as as follows...

Next.. will need to clear coat and touch-up with some weathering...

Hopefully my next post this Trumpeter Seahawk FGA MK6 is done and ready for the event in June 15, 2013...

until later..
for now i'm off to my Department Dinner @ The Manhattan Fish Market....

Trumpeter 1/48 Seahawk FGA MK6 - WIP (1)

Its been a while since i last post any of my scale models in my blog. Not that i've stop building, but rather been busy to actually put any progress here.

Now i have 2 consecutive build on the bench and both are due in June 2013, so here is the first lot of the 2. the Trumpeter 1/48 Seahawk FGA MK6 aircraft.

The Box art
The build is straight forward just with an occasional issue i always have with the seam-lines on the side of the fuselage. A little putty and sanding clean it up pretty nicely.

I'll be doing this in a Sues Campaign 1956 scheme for the 810 Sqn on board the HMS Albion.

Primed and ready for the pain booth and i'll will build this with its wing folded. To save some space in my display cabinet :)

The kit supplied the Suez stripes for the Seahawk as a decal but i'm being a modeler that i am like to make thing hard for myself... so i decided to mask the stripes and airbrush them one by one..

See below..for more..

I'm Jack Harper, I am Home... Oblivion movie review

"..year 2077.."
"... I am Jack Harper, I am home...."

the above phrase ends the 2 hours and 5 minutes of the movie Oblivion, and i enjoyed every 7500 seconds of the movie to the fullest (except for a few second where the Censorship "slip" a few R-rated scene of it, so dont bring your little ones to this movie else you're going to get some long explanation to do hehehe).

(Before i begin, this is my personal review of the movie.. others might have a different opinion )

Oblivion has to be the best movie i watched this year, never have expected it to be so engaging since a lot of people actually looking forward to the likes of Tony Stark in IronMan 3 (slate to be released in April 27, 2013) but not this movie.

I wasnt exactly have Oblivion in my to-watch-list movie, since my list already occupied by Elysium, Iron man 3, Pacific Rims but somehow yesterday got the urge to watch it.. so spent RM14 for the ticket... theater #3, Seat E10 (my fav seat).

The trailer!!

Oblivion is a post-apocalyptic movie and it got some cliche reference to the rest of the "end of the world" movie previously, but this one adds a little twist somewhere in the story. Not going to spoil the fun to you guys.. just watch it.. :o) and

lukis gambar ibu di lantai...

(sharing what's being circulated in the FB)

Selasa, 2 April 2013

The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey - blows my mind....!!!

Finally got to watch this movie The Hobbit: An unexpected Journey .. a prequel to the Lords of he Ring SAGA....

i didnt watch it when it first release in cinema due to the fact that i "think" (or rather thought) that it would be a boring movie... well let me assure you that wasnt the case!!

It was full of action and laughter from the beginning till the end and makes me wanted for more and cant wait for the rest of the movie to be release later in the year 2013 (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug) and year 2014 (The Hobbit: There and Back Again)

It follow the adventure of Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf with 12 Drawen into an adventure to take back the Lonely Mountain....

it is a long movie and i'm sure that will be an Extended Version coming out (as what happens in the LOTR Trilogy)...  in this movie you'll see some familiar faces like Gollum, Lord Elrond and of course Saruman The White.

So whoever havent watch this movie yet.. go and find it somewhere and watch it... and dont be late like me... how i regret not watching this movie in the big screen ...

got a lot of good movie this year such as Ironman 3 (May) and the Pacific Rim (July)

LIMA 2013: Are you ready?

Air ticket: checked! (Air Asia)
Accommodations: checked! (niece place)
Digital Camera: checked!
Extra Power Pack: checked!
Nice comfortable shoes: checked!

Sunglasses: checked!

March 26 ~ 30, 2013!!..

My countdown to LIMA 2013 (The Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition)  begins last December when i booked the air ticket to the Mystical Island of Langkawi for the event. I wasnt expecting to get any ticket at all since from my previous experience, air ticket will be sold out (or very expensive) for the weekend Public Day of the exhibition (since that week is also the School Holiday week), but alas i somehow manage to get 2 return tickets @ around RM120 each!!.. thats a bargain in my book for such a sought-after weekend.

image from Zactomodels.

What getting me even more excited is to finally be able to see the Russian Knights (Russian Acrobatic Team) in action. They are schedule to performed at this year LIMA from what i can see from their schedule HERE.. Russian Knights Schedule
One of these days, i'm going to make a model of the Russian Knights to add in my collection....

For details on the LIMA 2013 and the surrounding area (photo spot, aerial view etc) visit this awesome blog that tell you everything that you need to know on getting the right image of the event at the place... i think it is even better than the official LIMA 2013 website... http://langkawiairshowfan.blogspot.com/

So more on this after the event itself..... oh btw..this is my first trip to LIMA via plane.. before this i would have travelled early in the morning to Kuala Kedah to catch the earliest ferry to the island... i find that way is more hassle that i could asked for.. so the air ticket way is the obvious choice this time around to avaid all the unnecessary travelling.. but of course need to get to the airport early!!

Hopefully PRU'13 is not on that weekend!!

Hard Rock Kota Kinabalu Shotglass

Finally... i manage to get my hands on a pair of the latest addition to Hard Rock Cafe in Malaysia... Hard Rock Cafe Kota Kinabalu with a help of a fellow HRC glass collector :o)

I first mentioned about this new HRC back in December 2012 (new Hard Rock Cafe opening in Kota Kinabalu) - POST so this is in a way a follow-up to that post :D

Similar to other shotglass (in size and design) but i think their cityscape glass is very striking with the photo of a sunset with those "ikan layar" on the foreground it just very fitting... but i wonder why didnt they include Mount Kinabalu in there somewhere (or maybe its hidden in there somewhere).. hmm maybe the Mountain all the same from anywhere you look at it so its just not too striking to put on a glass....

anyway a nice addition to my collection... next to get is a pair of HRC glass from the newly "officiated" HRC Cafe Melaka.. officiated on a brand new building on January 28th, 2013

adios..

Listen..Listen..Listen.. a good read..

Not my writing.. just something that i find in the internet that i think worth mentioning.. a good read...
Sharing it here.. :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Google

A good read.

Listen.. Listen.. Listen.. well listen.. there is a reason why we have to pay for our education, because there is a value to knowledge.. We put value to it so that people will appreciate education.. it is irrelevant to compare and contrast Malaysia with countries like Argentina, Brazil etc. Those are poor countries, where the rich ones are either drug mafias or football players..

So listen, listen, listen.. education is free over there, when the country could have spend it on developing the nation. Ask yourselves, is that what you want in a country? What is the value of striving hard for education achievements when everybody is rewarded equally? Why should my child study harder than yours, when there is no such thing as having to strive for JPA scholarship, Petronas, Maxis etc etc?

Of PTPTN , My family could afford sending me for my first degree without having to apply for PTPTN, but i choose to apply for it because i would not want to trouble my parents for my fees and expenses. I finished my degree on time, worked for a year, kept enough money to continue with my Masters, and Yes, there were hard times. But there is a value to knowledge, and I am willing to pay. I am willing to work from 9am to 6pm and attend classes from 6.30pm to 10pm. With God's will, I have sat for my last paper last Sunday and I am anxiously waiting for the results to complete my Masters in Corporate Law. I had worked very hard for the past 2 years, juggling my time as a student and as a worker, spending money to travel up and down, my notes my assignments - all of which needs money..but it paid off, for every hardship Allah promises the reward. Alhamdulillah, I have a good job, my office is a happy place to be, at 25 years old I earn more than double what others my age earn. The amount I invested in my degree and masters education is more than paid off. And yes, every single cent of financing my education comes from hard work.

Academy Merkava III (The Build) - Part 1

I began the new year with this IDF tank offering from Academy. I believe its an old kit and based on a prototype of the Merkava 3 tank. so this build is solely an OOB build thus i'll leave the "prototype" version as it is.

I'll only be adding some anti-slip on the surface of the tank by doing so it gives me an opportunity to test using Texture paint to make an anti-slip. I still have a few Stryker that could use a nice anti-slip coating thus this would help me in the Stryker build later on (not too sure when that's going to be).

On to the build, the construction is fairly simple and i got it done in a few days. Now i'm at surfacing and painting the surface and too see how the anti-slip looks like.

on to the photo..

The Turret
anti-slip on the upper hull

anti-slip on the turret

It seems that i dont have enough anti-slip on the surface.. will add more and will post some updates after that..

until then.. :D

Honey & Cinnamon...

Phew!! only on the 10th day of the New Year that i'm able to take a breather and post something in the New Year... 3 hurrah for me for being able to update the blog this late in the new year 2013!!

But i cannot make this a long post, got another meeting to attend to... just a quick post that i found on the internet regarding the health benefits of Honey & Cinnamon... i personally been on a teaspoon/day honey diet since the last month but never think about adding cinnamon to the mix (although i loved CINNABON ehh when is the last time i had one of these buns hmmm).. anyway enjoy the information below and do share with others... will go hunting a ground Cinnamon at my local TESCO/GIANTS next..

Read till the end..

Cinnamon and Honey

Drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon: ~Frisky

It is found that a mix of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also note honey as very effective medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without side effects which is also a plus.
Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, when it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm even diabetic patients. Researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, put it on toast instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol and could potentially save one from heart attack. Also, even if you have already had an attack studies show you could be kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of cinnamon honey strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins.

ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients can benefit by taking one cup of hot water with two tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. When taken daily even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week (out of the 200 people so treated) practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain -- and within a month, most all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis now started walking without pain.

BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder....who knew?

CHOLESTEROL: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, when taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterolcould be cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and, clear the sinuses, and it's delicious too!

UPSET STOMACH: Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also is said to clear stomach ulcers from its root.

GAS: According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that when Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

IMMUNE SYSTEM: Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles (where DNA is contained) to fight bacterial and viral diseases.

INDIGESTION: Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food is eaten relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals

INFLUENZA: A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural 'Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

LONGEVITY: Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Use four teaspoons of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of boiling water to make a tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans increase and even a 100 year old will start performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

RASPY OR SORE THROAT: When throat has a tickle or is raspy, take one tablespoon of honey and sip until gone. Repeat every three hours until throat is without symptoms.

PIMPLES: Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off the next morning with warm water. When done daily for two weeks, it removes all pimples from the root.

SKIN INFECTIONS:Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin Infections.

WEIGHT LOSS:Daily in the morning one half hour before
breakfast and on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. When taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

CANCER: Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder three times a day for one month.

FATIGUE: Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, even when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, when taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M., the vitality of the body increases within a week.

BAD BREATH: People of South America, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water first thing in the morning so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

HEARING LOSS: Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing. Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!
